Education

a scene from Master Harold... and the BoysWith its roots in educational theatre, NET continues to integrate programming that help foster more than just creativity: involvement the arts promotes critical thinking and problem solving skills, teaches team-building and self-discipline, and nurtures the appreciation of different viewpoints and cultures.

New Edgecliff Theatre’s Educational Programming comes in three forms: our Outreach Program, Internship opportunities and a partnership with Dramakinetics.

We currently offer a wide variety of outreach programs that can be brought into your school or facility. Along with being an excellent introdution to the various disciplines of theatre, New Edgecliff’s educational outreach workshops can be modified to enhance elements of your curriculum. If you’re covering a specific play or novel, for example, simply speak to our Educational Director and we’ll create a curriculum-specific workshop just for you! Visit our Outreach Page to learn more!

For a more in-depth theatrical experience, high school and college students are invited to visit our Intern Program Page! Students work along side the actors and staff at New Edgecliff to gain in-depth knowledge and experience working in a professional theatre setting. Our Internship program is designed to train the next generation of theatre professionals in the skills necessary to become successful and integral parts of the theatre community.

New Edgecliff is also thrilled to partner with Dramakinetics, an organization that utilizes arts education to bring together and engage individuals of all abilities.  Through their workshops and classes, they help foster self-esteem & friendships, create opportunities for those with developmental goals, and provide an environment that is respectful to all individuals, regardless of ability.  Learn more about this organization by visiting their home page.
