Internships
New Edgecliff Theatre was established in 1998, built on a concept of locally-produced professional educational theatre, a model set at Edgecliff College in the 1970′s. In the ten years since its inception, our theatre has become recognized throughout the area for thought-provoking productions in an intimate setting. Actors and Staff Members have received numerous acclaim from local media, including several Cincinnati Entertainment Awards and Enquirer Acclaim Awards nominations and wins, including former Associate Artistic Director Nathan Gabriel’s Accliam Trailblaizer award for creating the Cincinnati Directors Competition.
High school students from the Cincinnati area are now invited to work along side the actors and staff at New Edgecliff to gain in-depth knowledge and experience working in a professional theatre setting. Our Internship program is designed to train the next generation of theatre professionals in the skills necessary to become successful and integral parts of the theatre community. Students are involved in all aspects of production: from rehearsals and set construction to run crew and board operation. By immersing students in a production, we hope to give them an unparalleled experience, building both independent and team skills in a non-competitive atmosphere.
Students can choose to work on a particular show, or an entire season. Because this is an unpaid position, hours are flexible and time commitments are planned between student, parents, and New Edgecliff staff. Arrangements can also be made for school credit or volunteer hours fulfillment, based on your school’s standards. Please feel free to make copies of the application form to give to students you feel may be interested. To apply online, please complete our online application here, or download the application pdf here.
